Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen had a constructive virtual meeting with Mr. Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry today (28.10.2020) and exchanged views on enhancing bilateral trade, tourism and investment cooperation between Ukrainian & Sri Lankan business communities.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of identifying and promoting untapped potentials between Sri Lanka and Ukraine in terms of trade, investment & tourism cooperation & requested the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce & Industry to arrange virtual business networking and matchmaking sessions between interested business entities in Sri Lankan and Ukraine.

President showed his keen interest on future collaborations while noting their current relationships with Sri Lankan prominent Trade Chambers during recent past.

Both the Ambassador & the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry agreed to accelerate the tangible results oriented activities between Sri Lanka and Ukraine. As an initial step the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce & Industry agreed to organize business networking session in few weeks’ time.

Mr. Valeriy Korol, Vice President, Ms. Anna Liubyma, Head of the Sector for new forms of International Cooperation of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Mr. Bohdan Viktorov, First Secretary of the South Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ms. Yoshitha Jayasuriya, Counsellor (Commercial) of the Mission attended the meeting.

The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is one of the prominent Trade Chamber in Ukraine established in 1972 with more than 9000 membership.
