Ambassador M. Rizvi Hassen during a courtesy call on Mr.  M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) today (27.10.2020) exchanged views on enhancing bilateral trade, tourism and investment cooperation between Turkish & Sri Lankan business communities.

The Ambassador noting the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) in 2010 drew attention to accelerate tangible result oriented activities between Sri Lankan counterpart organization, FCCISL. Further, the Ambassador stated the importance of exploring new avenues of cooperation between Sri Lankan universities and the TOBB University of Economics & Technology.

The President of the TOBB while thanking the Ambassador for his views agreed to extend fullest cooperation to enhance trade between the two countries and as an initial step the President showed his keen interest to organize a preliminary meeting virtually with the officials of the FCCISL, Sri Lanka.

Mr. Mustafa Bayburtlu, Head of European Union of the TOBB and Mr. Emin Berk, Commercial Assistant of the Embassy attended the meeting.

The TOBB is a supreme professional organization and legal representative of the private sector of 365 Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, Chambers of Commerce, Chambers of Industry, Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chambers of Maritime Commerce and Commodity Exchanges in 160 counties and 81 provinces in Turkey. The headquarters of the organization is in Ankara.
