H.E. Mr. P.M.Amza presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Ukraine completing the formalities of his accreditation as Sri Lanka Ambassador (non-resident) to Ukraine.

During a discussion held with the President of Ukraine following the official ceremony, the Ambassador reiterated that Sri Lanka is keen to further enhance existing bilateral relations with Ukraine in many and different spheres.

The Ukrainian President extended an invitation to the President of Sri Lanka to visit Ukraine and also stressed the importance of a visit by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to Sri Lanka.

The Ambassador stressed on the importance of early establishment of  Intergovernmental Joint Committee on Trade and Economic between the two countries, conclusion of proposed pending agreements, streamlining of student visa procedure for Sri Lankans, diversification of trade , promotion of tourism and Ceylon Tea in Ukraine .

The Ukrainian President highlighted that Sri Lankan students can be benefitted by facilities available in the Ukrainian Universities.

The Ambassador also held detailed and constructive discussions with the    First Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Economic Development and Trade, Minister of Education and Science, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy minister of Agrarian policies for European integration, President of the Ukraine-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Group, officials of  Asia & Pacific Department / Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ceylon Tea Traders in Ukraine, Sri Lankan Ex-pats in Ukraine and Sri Lankan students in Ukraine.
