Ambassador M.R. Hassen hosted an event to promote Batiks of Sri Lanka, “Discover the Beauty of Sri Lankan Batiks” on 07.07.2022 at the Ambassador’s residence. A fashion parade and a virtual presentation on Sri Lanka batik and fashion industry was demonstrated.

Turkish models dressed with the Sri Lankan Batiks sarees, dresses, beach wears, wrap arounds, shawls and headscarf mesmerized Turkish media representatives and the invited guests with three rounds of fashion parade. The colorful and enchanting Sri Lankan Batiks received many praises by the invitees.

This is the first time the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara organized a fashion parade to give a glimpse of Sri Lankan Batik to Turkish media and the guests and to showcase the Sri Lanka’s strength on the batik industry.

After watching the mesmerizing fashion parade, enthusiastic guests requested the Mission staff to dress them with Sri Lankan Batik dresses to experience the uniqueness of Sri Lankan Sarees.

Invitees were served with the Sri Lankan delicacies and a cup of Ceylon tea after the parades.
