Sri Lanka was represented for the third consecutive year at the Annual Charity Bazar (DMEDD Bazaar) organised by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spouses’ Solidarity Association at “ JW Marriot Hotel” in Ankara. DMEDD Bazar has become a premier event in Ankara “social calendar” with around 100 stalls representing different countries and institutions.

Within the framework of its social responsibility projects, especially on education and health, DMEDD has built pre-schools, schools, dormitory buildings and financed the renovation as well as the refurbishment of many schools along with hospitals, health clinics and has supplied educational material, books and clothes to disadvantaged schools in various regions of Turkey.

In order to provide funds for the projects, DMEDD organizes an Annual Charity Bazaar with the participation of Foreign Missions in Ankara and the contributions of Turkish Missions abroad. This Bazaar has become a landmark event in Ankara and attracts a great number of visitors each year.

This year, Sri Lankan stall focused on “Ceylon Tea” , Spices, Coconut Milk Powder, Herbal Teas and Sri Lankan food items.
