The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara organized an enlightening event to brief the prominent Antalya based tour operators, travel agents and hoteliers and business contacts on Ayurveda, Batik, Handloom & Handicrafts of Sri Lanka in Antalya on 23.02.2022. Informative presentations were made by the representatives of Laksala Sri Lanka and Siddhalepa Industries via virtually during the event. The event in Antalya was arranged by Mr. Ali Kamburoglu, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Antalya in collaboration with the Embassy.  Mr. Kamburoglu was appointed as the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka to Antalya in November 2021 and this is the second event organized to promote Sri Lanka after the opening of Honorary Consulate of Sri Lanka in Antalya.

Ambassador Rizvi Hassen during the event in Antalya highlighted the uniqueness of Sri Lanka as touristic destination and invited Turkish travel agents, tour operators to explore the available potentials. Further the Ambassador explained the value of Sri Lankan Ayurveda sector and also opportunities available in the Sri Lankan handicrafts, batik and handloom sectors for Turkish hoteliers and business contacts.

The event took intensive attention by the media representatives in Antalya.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara brought together the prominent Turkish tour operators & travel agents spread in different cities in Turkey with the Sri Lankan travel trade giants through an interactive virtual session on 24.02.2022. This is the third virtual meeting organized for Turkish travel trade contacts with the Sri Lankan travel trade companies in three months’ time.

Ambassador Rizvi Hassen during the virtual interactive session invited prominent Turkish tour operators & travel agents to include Sri Lanka in their holiday destinations packages as Sri Lanka could offer array of opportunities for Turkish travellors. 35 Turkish travel trade companies attended at the virtual meeting. Sri Lankan and Turkish travel trade representatives exchanged views and agreed to explore more unexploited areas such as gastronomy & wellness tourism.
