Hon Rauff Hakeem, the President of the Sri Lanka – Turkey Parliamentary friendship group and Minister of City Planning and Water Supply visited Turkey from 02nd February to  8th February 2016 as a special envoy of the Hon. Prime Minister.

During the visit the main focus was on further strengthening of existing trade relations between  the two countries. In this regard, extensive discussions were held with the officials of the Turkish Exim Bank, Turkish Airlines, Rize Commodity Exchanges, Contractors’ Association of Turkey and the officials of the Environment Ministry.  Minister Hakeem also paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Turkey where a  symbolic presentation of  Tea and Rice from the Government of Sri Lanka  for  the refugees hosted by Turkish Government was made in the presence of the Prime Minister.
