Red rice gets its colour from an antioxidant called anthocyanins which are also found in purple and red fruits and vegetables.  There are many suggested health benefits to red rice. It has a nutty, earthy flavour, with a texture somewhere between white and brown rice.  It cooks in about 10 -1 2minutes.
