6.SUSPENSION OF VISAS IN SRI LANKA DUE TO THE PANDEMIC COVID – 19 OUTBREAK

Duration of suspension of issuing Visa for the countries listed in below mentioned updates also extended till a further notice.

Update 07:    (Decision 23.03.2020)

All types of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA) / Entry Visas, Landing Endorsements, Multiple Entry Visas and Residence Visas already granted to all foreign nationals and not arrived to Sri Lanka yet have been temporarily suspended and they will not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka.

Until 31.03.2020, 2359hrs (Local time in Sri Lanka).

This decision is valid for all countries / nationalities including the countries listed in previous updates below.

Update 06:    (Decision date 17.03.2020)

All types of visa issuance to enter Sri Lanka has been temporarily suspended.

With effect from 2020.03.17 until further notice

Duration of suspension of issuing Visa for the below mentioned countries in update 01 to 04 remains as it is.

Update 05:    (Decision date 17.03.2020)

All types of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA) / Entry Visas, Landing Endorsements, Multiple Entry Visas and Residence Visas already granted will be temporarily suspended and the foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka temporarily.

With effect from 2020.03.19, 0400hrs (Local Time in Sri Lanka) to 2020.03.25 2359hrs (Local Time in Sri Lanka)

Duration of suspension of Visa for the below mentioned countries in update 01 to 04 remains as it is.

Update 04 :   (Decision date 16.03.2020)

All types of visa issuance to enter Sri Lanka and All types of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA)/ Entry Visas, Landing Endorsements, Multiple Entry Visas and Residence Visas already granted to these nationalities will be temporarily suspended and those foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka temporarily.

Diplomatic, Official and Service Passport holders are exempted from this restriction.

Canada

For two weeks with effect from 2020.03.17  2359 hrs (Local time Sri Lanka)

Update 03 :    (Decision date 15.03.2020 )

All types of visa issuance to enter Sri Lanka and All types of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA)/ Entry Visas, Landing Endorsements, Multiple Entry Visas and Residence Visas already granted to these nationalities will be temporarily suspended and those foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka temporarily.

Diplomatic, Official and Service Passport holders are exempted from this restriction.

For two weeks with effect from 2020.03.15

All types of visa issuance to enter Sri Lanka and All types of Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA)/ Entry Visas, Landing Endorsements, Multiple Entry Visas and Residence Visas already granted to these nationalities will be temporarily suspended and those foreign nationals will not be allowed to enter Sri Lanka temporarily.

Diplomatic, Official and Service Passport holders are exempted from this restriction.
