The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara participated in the “6th International Culture Day” at OSTIM Technical University on 07th May and the “International Friendship Day” at the Hacettepe University on 14 May 2025.

These lively festivals, hosted by the two universities attracted a diverse audience, including Embassy representatives, academics and over 1000 students.

The Sri Lankan stalls at the 02 festivals provided a vibrant hub of cultural heritage, featuring various traditional Sri Lankan items that offered festival-goers a unique glimpse into, and opportunities to experience Sri Lanka’s rich cultural traditions.

Those festivities also provided a good opportunity to share information about Sri Lanka, while the attendees could experience Sri Lankan hospitality, taste Ceylon tea as well as to don in traditional Sri Lankan attire.

Each festival having had participation from 25 countries including Sri Lanka, were excellent platforms to introduce Sri Lanka’s culture to a diverse audience.

The Embassy’s participation in the festivals enabled to promote Sri Lanka’s heritage and culture as a part of its public diplomacy activities, which is expected to contribute to promote Sri Lanka as a tourist destination.
